Welcome to Brewerton, NY


Brewerton is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Cicero in Onondaga County and the town of Hastings in Oswego County in the U.S. state of New York. Brewerton is located on the Oneida River on the west end of Oneida Lake. Both U.S. Route 11 and Interstate 81 pass through the hamlet, connecting it to Watertown to the north and Syracuse to the south. Brewerton has the largest elementary school in the Central Square School District, which is the geographically the largest school district in the State of New York. In recent years, Brewerton has become a major port for fishing on the already popular Oneida Lake. This is due to the recent Bass Masters outings at Oneida Shores County Park.


For grocery shopping, Brewerton residents have many shopping options surrounding the area. There is a Wegmans supermarket at 7952 Route 11 in Cicero and Route 31 in Liverpool. Price Chopper on Route 31 and Tops Friendly Markets has grocery stores in Clay and in North Syracuse.

Recreation & Entertainment

With Brewerton being at the west end of Oneida Lake, there are plenty of outdoor attractions, like boating, swimming, fishing and snowmobiling. Cicero has a Gander Mountain store for outdoor enthusiasts and attractions like Big Dons Wild River Mini Golf. The 916 Riverside Restaurant and Waterfront Tavern in Brewerton are popular spots for boaters and water lovers, as well as, Borios restaurant overlooking Oneida Lake for a beautiful dining view and outdoor entertainment during the summer months.

Transportation & Traffic

Oneida Lake is popular for boaters and snowmobilers. Interstate 81 and Interstate 481, both heading north-south, pass through Cicero. So does Route 31, which goes east-west and is loaded with places to eat, drink and shop. The regional airport is at the south end of Cicero.

Pros & Cons

You’re close to Syracuse and to the busy town of Clay without the traffic congestion of either. Hancock International Airport is at the south end of town.
